Prostate Biopsy? Bring Your Ipod

Not surprisingly, prostate biopsy, is stressful and can induce anxiety and higher blood pressure in men undergoing the procedure. Researchers at the Duke Cancer Institute, found that men who were listening to classical music with noise cancelling headphones fared much better during prostate biopsies then men who had no headphones or those that had headphones but weren’t listening to music.
Any non-expensive and non-invasive way to reduce stress during a procedure is a good thing.
I’m just curious if it has to be classical music? I like classical music, but I’d much rather listen to something along the lines of The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, or Velvet Revolver. So hopefully, if I ever need to do such a procedure in a couple of decades, that the music choice will be broadened a bit.
