With Our Human Spirit, Maybe Robots Won’t Enslave Us

Firstly who says American’s are Lazy?
Secondly, should we really be worried about an army of intelligent robots rising up against their unappreciative masters?
In the physorg.com article “Robotic arm’s big flaw: Patients say it’s ‘too easy’,” both of these questions are answered, to some what of a degree. In University of Central Florida, a robotic arm was developed to ease the life of quadriplegic patients who often must rely on others. The new robotic arm, to the scientists surprise actually worked too good, for the patient’s tastes. The one touch ability to grab items did not make many of the patients happy, who thought this mode was too easy. They actually preferred the more difficult manual mode.
In the article, the patients in the trial study, said it was simply that they were no different from anyone else. Too easy they get bored, to challenging they get frustrated. Everyone wants to feel more of an accomplishment in things they do in life.
So with this mindset, maybe in the future, we won’t create a robot slave race that does everything for us; making us completely dependent on them, until the day they overthrow us, like in the Matrix.
Go us!!
