Dog is man’s best friend. A forever loyal furry ball of unconditional love. Now if that wasn’t enough, they can help retain your child’s reading skill? Awesome!
A big problem when dealing with elementary school is for kids to keep up with their education during vacation, especially summer breaks. Now it is true that in many school,s the summer breaks aren’t has notoriously long as they were in the past, but instead are broken up throughout the school year, any break in a child’s teachings run the risk of having them forget what they have learned, especially at a young age.
Researchers at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. found that second graders that were made to read out loud to their dogs during summer break, were able to retain their reading level until the start of a new school year, at a much greater rate than children that read out loud to people during the summer.
Well, I wonder if it is because dog’s don’t judge. They don’t may a kid feel like an idiot for innocent mistakes. Dogs don’t frustrate a child. Sad to say a dog might be a better parent to a kid
Days spent reading to dogs during summer may help avoid decline of reading skills
